Prime Minister Hailed As Global Climate Change Leader by Egyptian Ambassador

Prime Minister the  Hon. Philip E. Davis was hailed as a global leader on climate change yesterday by The Ambassador from the Arabic Republic of Egypt to The Bahamas, His Excellency Mohamed Maher Adel-El Adawy.

Ambassador El-Adawy paid these warm remarks to the Prime Minister during a courtesy call yesterday afternoon. The Ambassador used the occasion to personally invite The Prime Minister to the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP27, to be hosted in Egypt in November of this year. Prime Minister Davis graciously accepted the invitation.

The Prime Minister and the Ambassador discussed a number of challenges both countries face regarding climate change, as well as a host of other issues faced by countries in the region. Ambassador El-Adawy also mentioned potential scholarship opportunities in Egypt for Bahamian students and cultural exchange opportunities between the two nations. 

The Ambassador’s tour of the country continues today with a boating excursion to The Exumas.
