The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following the news of the shooting incident at the Santa Fe High School in Galveston County, Texas, just outside of Houston. Contact has been made with The Bahamas Honorary Consul in Houston, Texas, Mr. Lynden Rose, who is following the matter closely and is in touch with the authorities in Texas. There have been at least 8 confirmed dead and many more with injuries. At this time there are no known foreign casualties, including Bahamian nationals. If this changes the Ministry will advise the general public as soon as possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who have been impacted by this unfortunate event.
