Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration on the Escalation of Hostilities near Bab Al Mandab

The Bahamas is deeply concerned about the latest attacks against Saudi Arabia. The targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and attacks on civilian shipping, are unacceptable and must cease. The escalation near the Bab al-Mandab Strait endangers global trade, energy supplies and freedom of navigation. The Bahamas supports renewed peace efforts, including United Nations mediation, in the interest of regional and international peace and security.
