Statement From Fred Mitchell MP Fox Hill On Immigration Allegation By John Pinder

Last evening in Fox Hill at the opening of the political headquarters of John Pinder, the UDP Candidate for Fox Hill, he made an allegation about the granting of citizenship which is false, inaccurate and malicious.

The allegation is that the Government has granted 3000 citizenships nationwide and 900 citzienships for Fox Hill alone in order to win the general election. That is nonsense.

Please be advised that no such thing was done by this Minister or the Government and we would never do such a thing.

The granting of citizenship is a quasi judicial process and is done soberly and  deliberately.  No extraordinary steps have been taken with regard to citizenship applications and the information which suggests otherwise is completely, false, just plain misdirected, off base and untrue.
