The 99th Anniversary of Sweden’s National Day
Message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of The Bahamas on the 99th Anniversary of Sweden’s National Day, 6 June 2016
The Honourable Fred Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of The Bahamas, conveyed, on behalf of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, warm greetings to the Government and people of the Kingdom of Sweden on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Sweden. Sweden’s National Day represents the day on which King Gustav Vasa was elected, 6 June 1523 and the adoption of the constitution on the same date in 1809.
The Minister referred to the cordial relations between Sweden and The Bahamas for the past 38 years. These relations were further strengthened by the presentation of credentials of H.E. Eldred Bethel as Ambassador of The Bahamas to Sweden.
The Minister conveyed to the Kingdom of Sweden and its people The Bahamas’ wish for their continued progress and prosperity.
