The Bahamas Reaffirms Committment To Climate Sustainability During Diplomatic Week Opening Ceremony

5th November, 2024 Freeport, The Bahamas. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an opening ceremony for our annual Diplomatic  Week. For the first time in the event’s history, it is being held on the island of Grand Bahama.

Prime Minister the Hon. Philip EB Davis was the keynote speaker at the ceremony. In his speech, he reiterated The Bahamas’ commitment to fighting climate change, securing reparations for slavery and colonialism and securing international cooperation to stabilize Haiti. Foreign Minister the Hon. Frederick A Mitchell, and Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Jamahl Strachan also gave remarks.

Entertainment was provided by the Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band and the St. George’s High School Pop Band.
