THREE DAYS OF BAHAMAS INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS IN WASHINGTON, D.C

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The Embassy of The Bahamas and the Embassy Consular Annex, engaged the Bahamian diaspora, diplomatic colleagues and friends with three (3) days of celebrations in recognition of 45 years of Independence. The celebrations kicked off on Friday, 6th July, 2018, with a Cocktail Reception at the St. Regis Washington Hotel with guests representing various embassies, international organizations and a large contingent of persons representing the diaspora. Guests were enjoyed to Bahamian themed cuisine and entertainment by Bahamian recording artist, Stileet. On Saturday, 9th July, the diaspora enjoyed a Bahamian Picnic at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and were welcomed with opens arm to worship at the historic Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church on Sunday, 8th July, 2018.
