UK High Commissioner Gomez Attends the Caribbean Global Awards

3rd January, 2025. London UK, Bahamas’ High Commissioner in the UK H.E. Paul Andy Gomez attended the Caribbean Global Awards on the 28th of September 2024 in London.

President of Guyana, the Hon Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Guyana’s High Commissioner in the UK H.E. Raj Singh received a special award, and according to the IMF, Guyana’s oil-driven economy “is the world’s fastest-growing economy in terms of real GDP since 2018, boasting an impressive five-year average economic growth rate of 27.14%, including an astounding 62.3% growth in 2023”.

Besides oil, Guyana also mines bauxite and gold, and produces many crops such as cassava, corn, bananas, vegetables and citrus fruits.
