Bahamas has ratified the Paris Agreement on Climate Change

At the twenty-first session of the Conference of the Parties (COP), held in Paris, France, the Parties adopted the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which was opened for signature on 22 April 2016.

The Right Hon. Prime Minister of The Bahamas signed the Agreement at that time in April and The Bahamas deposited its instrument of ratification of the Paris Agreement on 22 August 2016.
The total number of states and regional economic integration organizations that have deposited their instruments of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession are 23, accounting for 1.08% of the total global GHG emissions.

The Agreement shall enter into force on the thirtieth day after the date on which at least 55 Parties to the Convention accounting in total for at least an estimated 55 % of the total global greenhouse gas emissions have deposited their instruments of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession with the Depositary.

The number of Parties that have signed the Paris Agreement todate are 180 signatories.
