Message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the National Day of the Republic of Sri Lanka

On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of Sri Lanka, 4th February, 1948, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, conveys congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on behalf of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

The National Day of the Republic of Sri Lanka commemorates its internal political independence from British rule on this day in 1948. 

There have been cordial and friendly diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and The Bahamas for the past 13 years. The Bahamas’ extends best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of Sri Lanka.
