First Call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service by His Excellency
Zvi Tal, Ambassador of Israel to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas
On Monday, 22 November 2021, His Excellency Zvi Tal, non-resident Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, made his First Arrival Courtesy Call on the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service, the Honourable Alfred Sears, QC, MP, Minister of Public Works and Utilities. The meeting provided a productive opportunity to discuss significant priorities for The Bahamas, including in areas such as climate change, healthcare, education, agriculture, public infrastructure and renewable energy.
The discussions aimed at developing avenues for longstanding and integrative co-operation with Israel in its areas of recognised expertise, so as to achieve sustainable, resilient and technologically-current development in The Bahamas. This co-operation would also address important matters in the international and multilateral arenas, including Global South co-operation and the situation in the Middle East.
Also in attendance were Parliamentary Secretary, the Honourable Jamahl Strachan, MP, Permanent Secretary Peter Deveaux-Isaacs, Director-General Sharon Haylock and Under Secretary Eugene Torchon-Newry; Ambassador Tal was accompanied by the Honorary Consul of Israel to The Bahamas, Mr Arthur Seligman, and Chief of Security, Mr Yuval Levy.
