Foreign Affairs Institute Holds Welcome Seminar for New Employees

“Introduction to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for New Employees”

Nassau, 21 July 2023 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in conjunction with The Bahamas Alrae Ramsey Institute of Foreign Affairs (BARIFA), successfully concluded its week-long seminar titled “Introduction to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for New Employees.” The comprehensive program, held from 17 July to 21 July, aimed to equip recruits with a comprehensive understanding of the ministry’s operations and their roles within this esteemed institution.

The seminar commenced with inspiring opening remarks delivered by Ms Krissy Hanna, Vice Chancellor of BARIFA. Ms Hanna welcomed the participants with words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of diplomacy, professionalism, and dedication in their new roles.

His Excellency Gilbert Morris, Ambassador-at-large to BARIFA, followed with warm and gracious welcome remarks. H.E. Morris extended his greetings to the incoming employees, underscoring the significance of their contributions to the country’s foreign service endeavors.
Throughout the week, the participants were introduced to various facets of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the divisional heads.

The seminar culminated in a momentous ceremony where certificates of completion were presented to all participants, acknowledging their successful completion of the seminar.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its appreciation to all the facilitators, speakers, and participants for contributing to the seminar’s success.

As these newly equipped employees embark on their journey within the ministry, they carry with them the knowledge and passion required to advance The Bahamas’ diplomatic objectives on the international stage.
